Registration for AfterSchool winter workshops is open NOW through March 8th at midnight. Our program schedule, registration and scholarship information may be found in Konstella.

WORKSHOP PROGRAM INFORMATION
BNS partners with community organizations to provide afterschool workshops in a variety of disciplines, including art, dance, music, science and sports. Workshops meet Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 2:45 - 3:45pm. Classes are capped at 12 students or less to provide an intimate program. Children may be picked up at 3:45pm or join our aftercare program until 5:30pm.
In addition to workshops, BNS has a daily aftercare program from 2:30pm - 5:30pm. Children do not need to register for a workshop (or band) to attend aftercare. If you would like to join aftercare mid-year, please reach out to Shalisha to see if a spot is open in your child’s age group. Aftercare information may be found here.
WORKSHOP REGISTRATION PROCESS
General registration is open from February 28 - March 8, 2022
Reserve a seat for your child by completing the BNS registration form and making a payment to the vendor. You must complete both steps. Incomplete registrations will be canceled.
Registration is first come, first served. Please register early. We expect some classes will sell out within days.
We will open a waitlist if the class is full. We will contact you after March 9 should a spot open up.
Each program partner sets their own refund policy. Please read our general refund policies on our registration page.
Scholarship registration will take place February 28 - March 8, 2022
For every 5 paid spots, community partners will grant one scholarship to a BNS student.
If your family qualifies as low income on the DOE income verification forms (formerly known as school lunch forms), you may be considered for a scholarship. Your income verification form for 2021-2022 must be completed before you can be considered for a scholarship. Complete the income verification form online here.

We will do our best to match eligible students to a workshop. Please look out for an email in mid to late November.
How do scholarships work? For every 5 paid spots , community partners will grant one scholarship to a BNS student. Please help us to award scholarships on time by:
Signing up for either a paid spot or scholarship in each class. We will not honor your scholarship request if you also register for a paid seat in the same workshop.
Paying your registration fees on time. We must finalize paid class registration before we award scholarships. This means our scholarship awards are delayed by late payments. Community partners are happy to count your class as “paid” if you reach out to set up a payment plan.
WHO ORGANIZES WORKSHOPS?
The BNS Afterschool Advisory Committee organizes workshops for our community.
Parent volunteers seek program partnerships, create the program schedule, manage registration and help during afterschool each day.
Shalisha and the leadership team oversee daily operations of workshops and provide oversight to the committee.
Community partners provide scholarships in every workshop and bring their resident experts and teaching artists to work with our children.
Together we:
Provide our children with new experiences, an outlet for creativity and fun!
Create opportunities for friendship and community during afterschool hours.
Ensure our program is inclusive. We provide scholarships to 1 out of 6 students; over 100 scholarships annually.
