First Arts Committee event: handsewing
Today we had a great turnout at the first Arts Committee event: handsewing!
The Arts Committee is a group of parent volunteers devoted to supporting arts enrichment beyond the school curriculum, through PTA-led workshops and other programming.
Please join other passionate families who want to bring more arts enrichment to BNS. The Committee hopes to create events and opportunities for parents and families to participate in enriching and inspiring projects. Working artists who are part of the BNS parent body are encouraged to share their skills and time to enrich the lives of our community, and arts enthusiasts are invited to learn, share, and promote the work we do. NO experience is necessary, and all are welcome!
Some previous examples of the committee’s work: building beautification projects including murals and textile art, a ceramics project with the 5th grade related to their study of Mayan culture, fundraising over 6 years to purchase a kiln for the school, a spring event called Su Casa where faculty and parents performed... and more to come with your participation and ideas!
