Everybody Loves BNS Fundraiser
Happy Valentine’s Day BNS Families!
As we kickoff February, we want to celebrate how and why EVERYBODY LOVES BNS!
This week you’ll see an envelope in backpack mail (designed by our kids, thanks to Shalisha & the Afterschool crew):
- Use it (or online here) to donate
- Write one one thing you LOVE about BNS
- Send it back to your child’s teacher via backpack mail by March 1st.
Your contribution supports the very essence of BNS, our unique space where our children learn and grow.
As a public school, BNS is funded based on a standard set by the Department of Education. However, that funding is limited, so for years the families of BNS have been coming together to raise the shortfall needed to ensure our teachers’ classrooms are stocked with everything they need, and to fund beloved programs like the Brooklyn Arts Exchange (BAX), Shore School, 2nd Grade Swim, 3rd grade Africa Study, 4th grade Musical, 4th & 5th grade Earth Skills, science & sustainability and art & tech supplies, teacher professional development, and more - programs and experiences that touch our students during their years here at BNS.
The budget to achieve this for the 2023-2024 school year is $225,000.
We’re asking for every family to consider making a contribution that is comfortable for your family.
Every dollar really does make a difference. No matter the figure, 100% of your donation goes directly to supporting BNS and our kids.
There’s something very special about a community coming together to ensure every child can enjoy an excellent, forward looking educational experience. We’re so grateful to be a part of this one with you!
