May we congratulate Margaret Ward, an educational assistant in Bill’s first grade class? Margaret has been instrumental in the UFT sponsored Making Strides Against Breast Cancer campaign, which runs each year from November to the following October.
The current campaign ends on October 20th. On that day, you will find Margaret and her colleagues participating in the UFT’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk in Coney Island.

The money raised helps the American Cancer Society fund breast cancer research and provide patient services such as free rides to treatment and free places to stay for those who need it most.
This past week, our school was given an award for collecting over $1000 in the campaign that ran from November 2017 – October 2018. $1000 has already been raised this year! This is the third year that we as a community have raised more than $1000 in the effort to end Breast Cancer.
The UFT will have a final bake sale on October 16th. They ask that everyone — students and staff — wear pink on this day.
Once again, kudos to Margaret for her voluntary effort.
