Amazing Plants of the Garden
Sat, July 28, 2018 | 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Suggested Age: 6 – 8
Children will get to know the plants in the garden. They will learn the culinary and medicinal uses of flowers and herbs, as well as the process of drying and crushing them to make a lotion. Each child will create a fragrant oil to take home.
Critters of the Garden

Suggested Age: 5 – 7
Children will meet garden critters such as worms, snails, spiders and stick insects. Children will learn about their habitat and have the opportunity to plant a mosquito-repellent seedling to take home.
About the Instructor:
Eman Rashid is the founder of Brooklyn Seeds, which offers gardening programs in a dozen New York schools. She teaches kids about organic and community gardening as well as the natural world around them.
These workshops are free. Registration is required. Children must be accompanied by a caregiver. Refreshments will be served.
