Many thanks to David Haiman, José Garcia, Donna Costello, Ed Kelly and others for once again presenting us with a musical to enjoy in the middle of winter. Thanks to the Brooklyn Arts Exchange for making this possible. The musical opens the evening of February 13th. We can’t wait to see our fourth grade children singing and dancing.
And thanks to fifth grade parent and mural artist, Josh Sarantitis, for helping fourth grade students to create a phenomenal backdrop, one that will stay a part of our school as a permanent installation.
On a different note, thanks to parent, Beth Botson, for videotaping second grade teacher, Greta Schwerner and fourth grade teacher, Josh Hunter, as they explain two big ideas in math: number bonds and place value. Check out the videos. They may help you to make sense of the math curriculum. Thanks also to the School Leadership Team for making communication with parents about math a priority and for making these videos a reality.
